Carl grew up working in his grandfather's laundry and dry cleaning supply business. He earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration, but his life took a different vocational path. He became a minister and then an attorney, but his approach to decision-making was based on his early business experience.
Northwest Lincoln is all about business. Many of the City's largest employers are located in the 4th District, and Carl will work to expand business opportunities for existing businesses and new ventures.
If elected, Carl will bring 30 years of professional experience and community involvement to the Lincoln City Council. While earning his law degree at the University of Nebraska, Carl began working in the Office of Public Counsel, helping Nebraska families fight government bureaucracy and gain access to vital services and resources. Prior to earning his law degree, Carl served congregations in the Lincoln area for 14 years. Carl has been active in a variety of community organizations, including the Citizens' Police Advisory Council, Nebraska Common Cause, and the Nebraska Mediation Association.
Carl and his wife, Janet, raised their children, Hannah and Rachel, in Lincoln because of its outstanding schools and strong neighborhoods. Now they have two grandchildren and Carl wants them to have the same opportunities. Carl is running for Lincoln City Council because it is an opportunity to serve the city that he and Janet have come to love, and that has been their home for 30 years.
